Chris Roberts began his digital and marketing career in the early 1990s at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There he met classmates who would become early adopters of online marketing and web development. He took internships in publishing and advertising, working in video production, the college newspaper and for an entrepreneurial restaurant start-up chain, Spyhouse.

After graduation from college, Chris moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin eventually to NYC with Quad Graphics and attended their prestigious Administrative Trainee program for printing, publishing and cross training in estimating, corporate marketing, customer service and enterprise level sales. He worked on titles such as Macys, Time Warner and IBM. Chris was able to work with the late, great Harry “Larry” Quadracci in the NYC sales offices and learned much about holistic business philosophies.

In the late 1997, Chris moved into online marketing and development in the Silicon Alley and worked his way up to a Senior Internet Producer directing teams of up to 40 people and multimillion dollar build outs. Clients included Arthur Anderson, venture capital startups like Drinks.com, Sterling Optical and Planethollywood.com. Many of his peers went on to great careers throughout

At the millennium, Chris and his wife Jill moved up to Rochester NY where they currently reside and he began an internet services practice for a traditional advertising agency, the decorated Buck & Pulleyn. Clients included Bausch and Lomb, Johnson and Johnson, Kodak, Xerox and more with projects ranging from landing pages to full-suite e-commerce sites. His teams won many awards for innovative technology combined with marketing fundamentals. Chris also became an adjunct professor at Rochester Institute of Technology from 2000-2004 as well as a Web Awards judge.

In 2003 Chris moved to Next Step Magazine, a nationwide publication to high school counselor offices for collegiate marketing, to help them begin their foray from a printed publication to a Web site and lead generation engine for colleges nationwide. He began as the “Web guy” and eventually moved up to VP of Sales and ultimately, President. In 2004, his team helped develop a lead generation engine ahead of its time, formerly known as Galileo Lead Management System, which eventually became the chassis for Mission Control which powers all of CloudControlMedia’s systems.

In 2009 he co-founded BackToLearn Media, LLC for EDU inquiry generation and became known as a lead aggregator with quality and no-nonsense customer service. He and his partner spun off a Rochester based call center in 2013 known as Blue Sky Media Solutions, LLC which became a great delivery partner for intent-based student prospects. The shop also became proficient in qualify and transfer projects for colleges.

In 2017, Chris joined CloudControlMedia, LLC as VP of Operations and brings his 20-plus years of lead generation, technological innovation, call center management, integrated marketing and client-focused operations for EDU and non-EDU clients to the team.

Chris resides in the northern office in Rochester NY with his wife Jill and two sons, Andrew & Graham. He enjoys his family, skiing, cycling, has played guitar his whole life and animals. Chris is an Eagle Scout and is active in Boy Scouts of America with Troop 19 Tay House.
